They tell us that the greatest revivals in America were in the East and was called the Great Awakenings of 1730-1740s. Surrounding these revivals was a great conviction about sin, repentance, and prayer … all the result of preaching the truth. Throughout the history of the Church there has been outpourings of the Holy Spirit, challenging the Church to make changes from the way they were doing Church. I believe Jesus did the same in Revelation Chapter Two and Chapter Three, as He addressed the Seven Churches. The Church today could use another revival, to remind us of the mission He asked believers to do by going into all the world with the Good News of the Gospel
At the Marie Sandvik Center our mission was established in 1948 to reach the people most ministries had forgotten, and all these years later we are still on task with that mission. It is our Mission Statement that reminds us why we exist every time we open our doors: “Bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Hope of God's Love to the Inner City” We support our Mission Statement by the core values we practice at the Center, these are the principles we try to live by as we engage in ministry toward others.
Values of the Marie Sandvik Center
All people are valuable and important to God
All people are to be respected
All people need hope and encouragement
All people need the benefits of salvation provided by Jesus Christ our Lord
All people will have access to the ministry elements that are provided by the Marie Sandvik Center
The Center is currently under new development as we look to the future with great anticipation that God is not done with us yet. If you have an interest to be a part of the mission to reach people, please reach out to us on our website.
