Jiu Jitsu Youth Development

The Jiu Jitsu Youth Development Program serves young men from our surrounding neighborhoods by providing a safe, structured, and purpose-driven environment. The goal is to offer a positive alternative to the instability, violence, and drug influence that too often impact our community, while helping each student grow in confidence, discipline, and identity.

This program combines physical training with intentional character development. Through Jiu Jitsu, students build strength, coordination, body awareness, and practical self-defense skills. Just as important, they are coached in emotional maturity, learning how to regulate emotions, respond responsibly, and carry themselves with respect.

Each session reinforces key values such as courage, humility, discipline, and respect. Students are reminded of their intrinsic worth and purpose, that they are intentionally created and deeply valued by God. Training also emphasizes wisdom in real-life situations, including when and how to stand up for themselves and others.

Program focus includes:

  • A safe and consistent environment away from negative influences

  • Physical development through Jiu Jitsu training

  • Emotional growth and responsible self-expression

  • Spiritual grounding in identity, worth, and purpose

  • Character development through weekly virtues-based teaching

  • Practical self-defense and real-world awareness

This program exists to help young men grow not only in skill, but in character, confidence, and direction for life.
