iCAN Program

Introducing the iCAN Program at the Marie Sandvik Center

The iCAN Program at the Marie Sandvik Center is designed to equip students with practical skills, confidence, and direction for life beyond high school. Through hands-on workshops, students learn goal setting, résumé writing, interview skills, and more, while also building friendships, sharing meals, and connecting with caring mentors.

This program is about more than job readiness. Students are supported as they grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and develop a clearer sense of identity and purpose. As they engage with mentors and peers, they also hear and explore what a relationship with God looks like through Jesus Christ.

We continue to support iCAN alumni with job placement help, school support, Bible study, and ongoing community connection. Our goal is not only to help students get a job, but to help them thrive in life.

iCAN is built around four key focuses:

i – Inspires and ignites students' self-discovery of giftings and builds in them a lasting confidence
C – Connects students with mentors, peers who help them tell their own story to adults
A – Answers some of life's tough questions high school students have, not only about college and career but life.
N – Navigation to help students chart a successful course forward. They now exude confidence in speaking about themselves in interviews for college or their first job.

Through this process, students grow in both practical skills and personal identity, learning how to communicate who they are and where they are going.

This program is a partnership with CRU Ministries of Minneapolis.
